How to make yourself a bio page
1. Create an account for yourself by clicking on "Log in / create account" (top-right corner of this window).
2. You'll be automatically sent an email with a link to click to confirm you're a real person (and not a bot)
3. Once you're logged in, click on your username in this list.
4. This will bring you to your not-yet-existent bio page! Edit at will. (For the basics on editing, see below.)
5. Describe your real-world identity / affiliation / interests / your characters (in WoW and other game worlds), and anything else you want to share with the rest of the Science guild members.
- Here is a Sample Profile/Bio Page if you are drawing a complete blank.
6. Finally, make sure to add a link to your bio page in the list of members on the Community Portal.
Making new pages on the Science Guild wiki in 10 easy steps
You can take a peek at the completely useless User's Guide for this wiki software.
Or better, you can just...
1. Hit the edit tab above (or on any page you'd like to emulate)
2. Select and copy the yummy contents and go back to this page
3. Look up at your internet browser's address bar, which should currently say http://scienceguild.org/wiki/index.php?title=Help:Contents
4. Delete the last bit (Help:Contents) and type in the title of a page that you want to create, like maybe Ninja_orcs or WoW_addiction
5. When you hit enter and go to that nonexistent page, you'll be invited to edit this page.
6. Go on, call the bluff. Edit this new page.
7. Paste those yummy contents
8. Re-write the yummy contents as you like (about ninja orcs, WoW addiction, etc.)
9. Rejoice that you didn't have to use the completely useless WikiMedia manual to find out how to make words bold, post links, etc.
10. Finally, edit the Main Page by adding a link to the page you just created. (How else will people find it?)
Eventually, this will make the Main Page way too cluttered and we'll have to make categories etc. But in the meantime, let's see how this thing evolves...
Wanna get all fancy?
It's easy...
1. To embed images, click on <Upload file> to the left
2. Upload your image (which saves it in the guild wiki common images folder)
3. Edit your page and insert this: "Image:your_image_name.jpg" inside of double brackets.
(Hit edit at the top of this page to see how the robot image is coded.)
