Everyone should use at least one or two World of Warcraft addons, they are free mini-applications which can greatly enhance your game play. Simply use the links provided to download the addon to your World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns folder and unpack it there.
You can get them from many sites, but it's probably best to download them from well-known and reputable sites such as [CURSE.COM].

For those who are interested in running instances, it is especially recommended that everyone gets Deadly Boss Mods so you can be prepared for boss encounters. Omen and Ventrilo are also highly recommended.

[Ventrilo]
Ventrilo is a Voice over IP (VoIP) group communications software. It is a free and quick download which enables you to communicate with your team in real time when logged into a "Vent" server.
Note: Ventrilo is not a World of Warcraft specific addon, so you will need to install it as you would any other software. See [Ventrilo Setup] for details.
[Omen]
Omen is a threat meter. Basically, enemies in WoW decide who to attack by deciding who is the most threatening based on the abilities you use. It provides estimates of relative threat level on individual enemies, so that you can see when you're in danger of pulling aggro (or, if you're next on the snack list if your tank bites it). This info is critical in raids, but it is also useful in any multi-player situation. Other people in your party MUST have this installed for it to work accurately.

[Recount]
Provides a display of damage and healing data from nearby party members. It keeps a running total for each player and displays the information as a bars chart in a frame on the screen. It is perfect for real-time comparison of the various members of your party or raid.
